The never-ending stream of gun violence that plagues American society can seem like an overwhelming problem. In moments like this, we need social justice warriors to combat the influence of those who kneel at the altar of guns, money, and corporate greed. Who are these social justice warriors that we are waiting for? We all are. Each of us has the power to produce positive collective change. We just need to take the first steps by: going to town meetings, running for local offices, voting, fundraising, where you do and don’t spend your money, etc. Our individual and collective actions to combat gun violence can help halt the slaughter of children, co-workers, friends and family members, and help stop the constant killing of unarmed black men and women. We can rebuild the structures that perpetuate a system of violence and discrimination with new structures that serve all members of society equally.
